This is the story of an old Top Fueler imported to
Eurupe from the States.
It was originally built by Dauernheim,s Speed Shop in New Jersey
and was raced in Top Fuel in the early seventies.
Sponsored by Van Iderstine Speed Centers.
The driver was Fred Ahrberg and it was known as the "black car"

This Information I have got from Pete Keller at the west coast USA.
#########
Then the car was brought to Norway by Kjell Olsen
sometime between 1975-1976.He owned it for one season.
And a guy named Tom Andersen then bought it.
He drove the car until 1978.
It was used in the Pro Comp cathegory.
With an donovan alcohol-engine. Called BLACK MAGIC.
Then Arve Johnsen bought it, but he unfortunately died in a motorcycle
accident only one year later.
The car still had the text: VAN IDERSTINE Speed Centers
when it arrived to Norway back in-75
This information I got from Öystein Asphjell (journalist for Amcar magazine Norway).
###############
Then the chassi was sold to Sweden in1986 to Stig Olsson.
And was raced in Competition with a Chevy SB and Powerglide for the -86,-87,-88 season.
(I dont have any pics. from that era).
They also shortened it and took away the front suspension, then it was put a part and sold separate ways, and the chassis was put in a garage to be forgotten, until I located it after som investegation in 1994. And wen I found it it was in a pretty bad shape and all parts exept the stering, front wheels and the seat was missing.
So I kind of restore it, to look like a late sixties-early seventies Jr fueler.
And to fit in the modern Super Comp class.
The guy in yhe picture is Lennart "lelle" Nilsson
who was a good help with the welding-job at the chassi.
With an Alcohol-injected Big Block chevy and a three-speed
Lenco with an air shifter
and a trottle stopper,and called it;
TIMEMACHINE

And this picture is from the final race at Mantorp Park in Sweden in 1999.
It was the last race with the car with this paint job.

The car has been fixed up again during the winter 2002-2003.
After it has been unused for about three years.
A local paintshop made a new paintjob. And I have done some other modifications including
mounting a pair of Borla headers with mufflers.Becouse of the new ruels.
This picture is taken at "Hot Rod Rock Show" in
Tampere Finland, where it got the third price
in "race car" category.
This picture is taken by Mattias Hammarstedt in May 2003,
and was published in the August number of Wheels Magazine:

In June 2003 we entryed the "Deep Forrest Nats." in Sundsvall Sweden.
